ws: 20-23mm (BGBI4.1); Jul-Apr; birch (Betula spp); pRDB - birch woodlands in Scottish highlands
ID: Forewing grey with a variable amount of darker grey or brown in the basodorsal ⅔-¾; in specimens with this darker colouration the basal ⅓-½ of the costa is pale in "continuity with" the pale thorax; proximal discal markings of black and white scales variable in form, distal discal mark a small round white spot surrounded by black scales; a series of black subterminal spots. More similar in external appearance to some Agonopterix species than to E.allisella.
