48.0071 Choreutis nemorana (Fig-leaf Skeletonizer)
ws: 16-20mm, fw: 8-10mm (Sterling & Parsons); bivoltine Jul-Aug, Sep and overwinter; fig (Ficus carica); new to Britain 2014, Hyde Park, London. Has subsequently spread rapidly through SE. and SC. England.
ID: head and patagia blackish, with extensive white irroration; forewing and thorax red-brown; thorax and tegulae narrowly edged white; crosslines formed by white irroration - partial subbasal, complete scalloped antemedian, irregular postmedian tenuous except at costa where it forms a small distinct white spot, complete terminal; a paler postmedian fascia with extensive whitish irroration; a variable scattering of black scales in the distal half of the forewing, especially along the distal border of the postemdian fascia; termen scalloped.
