62.018 Sciota rhenella (Poplar Knot-horn)
ws: 22-24mm (Goater), 25-27mm (Parsons & Clancy); aspen/ white poplar (Populus tremula/alba); until 2022 considered rare migrant to SE England with 24 British records; subsequent records in 2022 and 2023 from East Kent suggested colonisation and 3 specimens from a row of Poplars on Foulness Island in 2024 suggest it is now breeding in Essex.
ID: Basal area grey; subbasal area pale peachy; a weak zig-zag white antemedian line is broadly bordered black, appearing as a strongly contrasting and well-demarcated black antemedian fascia; median area varies from pale peachy to grey containing 2 discal dots; white zig-zag postemdian line bordered black proximally; subterminal area generally a darker grey than the median area.
