63.076 Euchromius ocellea (Silver-spotted Veneer)
ws: 16-27mm (Goater), fw: 8.0-13.5mm (Sterling & Parsons); all year, peak Jan-Mar; scarce migrant, becoming more regular
ID: forewing pale brown, flecked with dark brown, more densely in the distal ⅓; a postmedian fascia composed of a pair of pale orange lines with a silver line between them and another silver line distal to the distal line; a silver subterminal line with a 90° angle pointed at the termen; a pair of pale orange lines forming a V between the subterminal line and the termen in the costal half; an ocellus between the subterminal line and the termen in the dorsal half - from proximal to distal the ocellus is composed of a white line on the distal side of the subterminal line, 8 black spots separated by white, 4 silver dashes and 4 black dashes each distal to a pair of the black spots and separated from each other by pale orange. E.ramburialis is similar but broader-winged and averages smaller (ws: 16-21mm); its postemedian fascia is a single pale orange band, and the proximal portion of the forewing is much more densely flecked with dark scales.
