Synonym: Stenodes straminea (BTM); Agapeta straminea (Pierce & Metcalfe)
ID: Variable extent of ochreous suffusion of ground colour and variable admixture of black in the ochreous-brown markings. Similar to C.alternana which is usually larger (ws 18-25mm); confined to coastal chalkland in Kent and has distinctive black scale-tufts, circled white, in the median fascia.
