70.159 Eupithecia phoeniceata (Cypress Pug)
fw: 10-11mm (Waring), 10.5-12.6mm (my specimens), ws: 18-22mm (UKMoths); May-Oct but mostly Aug-Sep; Cupressus (Monterey cypress); presumably introduced with the trees, first recorded in Cornwall in 1959, now uncommon throughout S.England.
ID: Pale brown colour with distinctive pattern of black markings make this unlikely to be confused with other species.
