ws8-9mm; May; dogwood (Cornus sanguinea); locally common in England
Synonym: Antispila pfeifferella (MBGBI1)
Synonym: Antispila pfeifferella (MBGBI1)
ID: Antispila species differ from Heliozela species in having metallic forewing spots (non-metallic spots in Heliozela). The two Antispila species differ in size, A.treitschkiella being smaller (ws ~6mm), with darker forewings and with less purple in the hindwing. The key in MBGBI1 also separates them on the basis that the preapical spot is broadly triangular in A.metallella and more linear in A.treitschkiella.
