70.010 Idaea sylvestraria (Dotted Border Wave)
fw: 10-11mm; Jun-Aug; unknown; NS-B mainly on heathland in S.England
ID: Characterised by the black marginal and central dots on each wing; which are either lacking or much less distinct in I.diluatria (Silky Wave) and I.subsericeata (Satin Wave). I.fuscovenosa (Dwarf Cream Wave) has a creamy-white rather than brownish-white ground colour; its marginal markings are fine dashes which become lost or less distinct with wear; the proximal part of the costa is brown; and the cross-lines more distinct.
