ws: 9.5-12mm (MBGBI4.2); May-Aug; common/little mouse-ear (Cerastium fontanum/semidecandrum); NS-B on sandy coasts throughout Britain
ID: Similar to several other Caryocolum species and not reliably identified to species without genital dissection.
Male genitalia: long, fine, narrow-based saccus; paired posterior processes of vinculum deeply divided into two lobes,the lateral of which is narrower than the cleft between the lobes.
Female genitalia: Linear sclerotisations on either side of introitus, extending <½ length of an anterior apophysis; signum a moderate curved thorn
