fw: 14-16mm; May-Oct; willows / sallows (Salix spp), poplars (Populus spp), alder (Alnus glutinosa); common in England, Wales and lowland Scotland
ID: Similar to C.pusaria (Common White Wave). C.pusaria has 3 fairly straight silver-grey cross-lines on forewing; in C.exanthemata these lines are brown, curved and often indistinct.
