37.022 Coleophora lusciniaepennella (Osier Case-bearer)
ws: 10-13.5; Jun-Jul; sallows and willows (Salix spp), bog-myrtle (Myrica gale); common in woodland bogs and fens throughout Britain
ID: Forewing plain, not metallic, not white, without any pale markings; antenna white ringed fuscous to beyond half length of flagellum, proximal segments not thickened with scales > 22 species. (In the key in MBGBI3 this may be narrowed down to 5 species by stating that the antenna is obscurely ringed rather than fully ringed in the apical portion and that the forewing colour is fuscous or ochreous-brown rather than ferruginous or ochreous-orange - I do not think these distinctions can be reliably made).
Female genitalia: Signum very large, spike <1/2 length of bursa copulatrix; introitus vaginae with thickened lateral margins and about as long as heavily spiculate section at posterior end of ductus bursae.
