ws: 38-44mm (MBGBI10), fw: 16-19mm (Waring & Townsend); May-Jun; various woody plants; NS-B in moorland in Scotland, Cumbria and Northumberland.
ID: Antenna bipectinate in male, finely ciliate in female. Thorax pale grey; patagia with a horizontal black band; tegulae chesnut-brown to black, edged pale grey dorsally. Forewing pale grey with a darker median fascia and brown to black basal streak; median fascia reddish-brown towards dorsum, greyer towards costa; stigmata narrowly edged black, oval elongate; antemedian line dentate in dorsal third, oblique in costal portion; postmedian line ~parallel with termen, better marked in dorsal half where strongly edged white; black streak between antemedian and postmedian lines near dorsum; black interneural streaks in terminal region.
