35.137 Caryocolum tricolorella (Three-colour Groundling)
ws: 10-14.5mm (MBGBI4.2); Jun-Aug; greater stitchwort (Stellaria holostea); common in open wood and hedgerow in England & Wales
ID: Thorax fuscous; dark bar between costa and fold at ~⅓, extended along costa as a triangle.
As with other Caryocolum species, genital determination is likely to be required for confident identification to species.
Female genitalia: Introitus vaginae broad, ~quadrate, with confluent sclerotisation and a notched anterior border; ductus bursae with a small sclerotised plate at its posterior end, which "fits into" the notch in the introitus; signum base plate with a broad crescent base plate and a short stout spike.
