65.001 Falcaria lacertinaria (Scalloped Hook-tip)
ws: 14-18mm; bivoltine Apr-Jun, Jul-Aug; silver/downy birch (Betula pendula/pubescens); common throughout GB
ID: Irregularly scalloped forewing termen, two dark cross-lines, small dark central dot; rests with wings tectiform. First generation may be more silvery-grey, second generation smaller and lighter brown. Laspeyria flexula (Beautiful Hook-tip) [Family: Erebidae] has similar markings but rests with wings flat, has only two projections of the forewing termen and has two central dots on each forewing.
