63.121 Donacaula forficella (Pale water-veneer)
ws: 25-30mm; Jun-Jul; common reed (Phragmites australis), reed sweet-grass (Glyceria maxima), sedges (Carex spp); local in marshes, fens and bogs in England
ID: D.mucronellus has a sharply demarcated pale costal streak and lacks the dark oblique apical streaks shown by D.forficella. The female is distinguished from Schoenobius gigantella (ws41-46mm) by being smaller, with a more acute apex and a more oblique concave termen. Note that specimen §1 with a ws of ~23.5mm, is smaller than the size range quoted in Goater and that UKmoths gives a size range of 24-32mm.
