70.131 Mesotype didymata (Twin-spot Carpet)
fw: 11-15mm; Jun-Aug; a wide range of plants; most common in moorland; ssp didymata is common in the north and west but occurs throughout GB except Shetland; ssp hethlandica occurs on Shetland.
ID: Males have a darker greyer ground colour than females; ssp hethlandica is browner. May be somewhat similar to Nebula salicata (Striped Twin-spot Carpet) which, despite its English name, lacks the 'twin-spots' shown by P.didymata at the centre of the subterminal fascia
