ws: 9-13mm, fw: 4.0-7.5mm (Sterling & Parsons); Jun; birch (Betula spp); common in birch woodland throughout GB

ID: Head whitish; thorax dark grey. Forewing ground colour whitish suffused ochreous; markings dark grey mixed with black and with a sprinkling of ferruginous scales - median fascia broad with irregular margins, poorly demarcated basal fascia, these two fasciae often confluent along the costa, pre-apical spot extended as a diffuse stria towards the tornus.
