28.023 Harpella forficella (Yellow-striped Bark Moth)
ws: ~14mm (UKMoths), 19-29mm (Wikipedia); Jul to Aug; fungi on dead wood in deciduous forest; new to Britain in Aug 2011 (Berkshire), 2nd record July 2012 (Sussex), subsequently there have been more but I have not been able to establish how many; not considered by Atropos in migrant totals.
ID: Brown with a yellow stripe from mid base to tornus, a yellow subcostal preapical patch and yellow apical cilia; the labial palps are also brown and yellow - generally yellow on the dorsum of S2 and most of S3, but there appears to be some variation in the extent of yellow (is there a sex difference?)
§1 Orlestone Forest, Kent; 12/08/2020; male; fw 8.8mm; to light
