73.063 Amphipyra berbera (Svensson's Copper Underwing)
fw: 21-26mm; Jul-Sep; various broadleaved trees; common in England and Wales.
ID: Very similar to A.pyramidea (Copper Underwing). See A.pyramidea/berbera compared and Difficult Species Guide.
Hindwing underside: little contrast in dorsal half between copper apical 1/3 and basal 2/3. Forewing upperside: jagged antemedian line with the most dorsal V extending further from base than than the next V. Labial palps: black with a white apex to S3.
Male genitalia: Aedeagus with 34-36 cornuti; uncus with a ventral margin extending further than dorsal margin which is smoothly rounded at apex.
