63.122 Donacaula mucronella (Scarce Water-veneer)
ws: m22-26mm f29-35mm; Jun-Jul; common reed (Phragmites australis), reed sweet-grass (Glyceria maxima), sedges (Carex spp); NS-B in marshes and fens in S & SE England and C/N Scotland
ID: similar to D.forficella. D.mucronella can be distinguished by the presence of a sharply demarcated pale costal streak and the absence of a dark diagonal apical streak. Pleurota bicostella (Oecophoridae) has a similar forewing pattern but can be distinguished by the presence of 2 or 3 discal dots in the forewing and a narrow ascending S3 of the labial palps.
