49.134 Cochylis roseana (Rosy Straw)
ws: 10-17mm; May-Aug; teasel (Dipsacus fullonum); local on rough ground in S.England
ID: Varies in degree of suffusion of forewing with rosy-pink, appearing pale ochreous when this suffusion is very weak.
Cochylis flaviciliana and Falseuncaria degreyana are similar - both lack the blackish sub-apical line in the terminal cilia shown by C.roseana.
The median fascia of C.flaviciliana is a lighter ochreous-brown and lacks the blackish admixture shown by C.roseana.F.degreyana is rare and confined to the breckland of E.Anglia.
