ws: 18-20mm (Goater), fw: 9-10mm (Sterling & Parsons); Jul-Aug; mosses (Goater), maritime sunburst lichen (Xanthoria parietina) (Sterling & Parsons), lichens especially Parmelia species (UKMoths); NS-B - local in mainly in coastal counties
ID: Similar to other Scopariinae. The postmedian line extends for a short distance perpendicular to the dorsum and then turns abruptly through ~90° towards the termen.
Male genitalia: Uncus notched but this is a feature seen in several other Eudonia species. Reliable identification by male genital features may not be possible.
Female genitalia: Ductus bursae with 2 anterior coils; signum small and round. E.truncicolella is similar but the signum is medium and oval.
