73.002 Abrostola triplasia (Dark Spectacle)
fw: 14-18mm; Jun-Jul, bivoltine in SW.England Aug-Sep; common nettle (Urtica dioica), hop (Humulus lupulus); common in SW&NW.England and Wales, more local elsewhere in England and very local in Scotland.

Basal area colour pale reddish-straw contrasting with darker terminal area; at the forewing apex 3 short black streaks run along the veins proximally from the straw-coloured subterminal line (the most costal of these 3 is usually short and may be indistinct); stigmata finely outlined with the 2 oval marks connected in a figure of 8 so that the kidney mark appears the larger of 3 marks.
