ws: 17-18mm (Goater), fw 8-9mm (Sterling & Parsons); late May - mid Sep; lichens and mosses on trunks of ash and apple; NS-B - heath and wood in England, Wales and S.Scotland
ID: Prominent black blotches, on or near the forewing costa, distal to the white antemedian line, proximal to the white postmedian line and at the wing base, make this relatively easy to identify.
Male genitalia: Uncus rounded (not notched), gnathos simple
Female genitalia: 2 coils in anterior ductus bursae; signum small elongate/triangular
