ws:11–14mm; Aug‐May; birch (Betula spp); widespread but uncommon on heaths, moors and open woodland.
ID: S2 of labial palp not tufted; forewing without whitish streaks, pale spots, fasciae or costal blotch, but with a small black medial costal spot.
