73.087 Spodoptera exigua (Small Mottled Willow)
fw: 13-14mm (Waring & Townsend), ws: 26-32mm (MBGBI10); uncommon migrant, all year, mostly Jun-Oct
ID: Rests with forewings wrapped around body; stigmata pale pink/orange. Both S.cilium (Dark Mottled Willow) and Caradrina flavipalpis (Pale Mottled Willow) have broader forewings that are held flat at rest. S.cilium has dark stigmata. C.flavipalpis has four black spots along the costa and its kidney mark is at least partly dark brown and usually edged with white spots.
