fw: 12-13mm; Jun-Aug; meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria), common valerian (Valeriana officinalis); local in damp grassland and marshes in England, Wales and SW Scotland
ID: Hindwing central black spot usually prominent, forewing may show a less prominent spot. S.floslactata (Cream Wave) is larger (fw 13-16mm), its hindwing spot less prominent and forewing usually lacks a spot; it also has a more pointed forewing apex. S.emutaria (Rosy Wave) and S.nigropunctata (Sub-angled Wave) both have a dominent broad diffuse central cross-line and angular hindwings. S.ternata (Smoky Wave) lacks central black spots on both wings.
