fw: 13-15mm; first British record Oct 2002; increasing migrant especially to Kent, now almost certainly resident in Kent and Essex at least.

Caradrina kadenii (Clancy's Rustic) §7

ID: Similar to C.clavipalpis (Pale Mottled Willow) but differs in the following features: 1) ground colour pale grey vs brownish-grey; 2) terminal area distal to a pale subterminal line similar to ground colour vs contrastingly dark; 3) row of brown blotches proximal to subterminal line (variable in expression in both species) restricted to midwing vs almost complete to dorsum and costa; 4) oval mark very small and may be absent vs small; 5) hindwing whitish with little grey shading vs whitish with a grey terminal band extending proximally along the veins.
