Differs from all Phyllonorycter species in having the forewing fasciae bordered black on the posterior margins (in all Phyllonorycter species with black-bordered fasciate markings the border is on the anterior margin). Also in the hindtibia has bristles (absent in Phyllonorycter).

ID: Black margins distal to white fasciae. In all Phyllonorycter species with black margins to the white fasciae, the black margin is either only proximal to the white fasciae or where there is a black margin distal to the white fasciae there is at least as strong a black margin proximally.
