ws: 32-48mm (MBGBI1), fw: M12-18mm, F15-26mm (Waring); Jul-Aug; Common in various habitats, widespread through UK, lfp: roots of bugloss (Echium), docks (Rumex), dandelion (Taraxacum) and bracken (Pteridium aqualinum).
ID: Forewing cilia not chequered; pale fasciae form an acute V with the point dorsal and open.
