70.273 Parectropis similaria (Brindled White-spot)
fw: 17-20mm (Waring & Townsend); May-Jun; Quercus spp (oaks), Corylus avellana (hazel), Crataegus spp (hawthorns), Betula spp (birches); local in broadleaved woodland in England and Wales
ID: Forewing ground colour pale brown, brindled with dark brown; fasciate markings of variable strength - antemedian, median, postmedian and subterminal; fringes chequered. The subterminal fascia is well-marked at the costal end, interrupted by a diagnostic white, more-or-less square, spot, free from the brindling that covers the rest of the wing, and dorsal to which the fascia is less distinct.
