fw: m-14-17mm f-brachypterous; Jan-Feb; blackthorn (Prunus spinosa), hawthorns (Crataegus spp); common in England, Wales and S.Scotland
ID: Males are similar to Aleucis distinctata (Sloe Carpet) which flies later (Mar-Apr); has more jagged cross-lines edging the median fascia; a more pointed forewing apex; faint or absent central dot on hindwing; and conspicuous white spots on the abdomen.
