16.010 Zelleria hepariella (Ash Spinner)
ws: 10-15mm (MBGBI3), fw: 5.0-7.5mm (Sterling & Parsons); Jul-Apr; ash (Fraxinus excelsior); local in woodland, scrub and hedgerows on clay and calcareous soils throughout GB
ID: Head ochreous to orange-brown, often whitish in middle; antenna fuscous with 2 paler bands per segment; forewing brown often with a pale median basal streak to ½, apex falcate; head-down resting posture. Looks a bit like Caloptilia rufipennella (Gracillariidae) but with an Argyresthia-like (Argyresthiidae) resting posture.
