62.069 Anerastia lotella (Sandhill Knot-horn)
ws:19-27mm; Jul; grasses eg marram (Ammophila arenaria); common on coastal sand dunes in England, Wales and S Scotland & Brecks
ID: Labial palps longer than head, straight, porrect; fw sandy brown with a variable amount of fuscous suffusion, sometimes with fuscous streaks, costal streak usually but not always pale whitish, 2 dark discal dots sometimes present. Pima boisduvaliella is similar but its pale streak is subcostal. Not mentioned in reference material but most web images of P.boisduvaliella also show the pale streak extending to the apex and possibly into the apical cilia, while in A.lotella the pale streak fades out just proximal to the apex.
