fw: 9-12mm; May-Aug; alder (Alnus glutinosa); local in damp
woodland in England, Wales and S.Scotland.
ID: Rests with wings closed (upper surfaces of forewings pressed together, like a butterfly); chequered fringes. Similar to Hydrelia flammeolaria (Small Yellow Wave) which rests with wings open and has simple fringes.
