ID: Grey-brown ground colour; conspicuous elongate black central spot with a series of small black wedges distal to it; pale postmedian line angled near costa, with 2 pale smears running through it towards the termen.
E.abbreviata (Brindled Pug) is similar in size, shape and general pattern; it has a browner ground colour, a smaller central spot, less well-marked black wedges, lacks the pale smears and flies earlier (Mar-early May).
