Amphipyra pyramidea (Copper Underwing) §2 male
ID: Very similar to A.berbera (Svensson’s Copper Underwing). See A.pyramidea/berbera compared and Difficult Species Guide.
Hindwing underside: strong contrast in dorsal half between copper apical 1/3 and straw basal 2/3. Forewing upperside: jagged antemedian line with the 2 most dorsal 'V's equidistant from base. Labial palps: black with a white ventral stripe.
Male genitalia: Aedeagus with 12-13 cornuti; uncus with a dorsal hump apex, this hump extending further than the ventral margin of the uncus.
