73.324 Agrotis trux (Crescent Dart)
fw: 16-19mm (Waring & Townsend), ws: 35-42mm (MBGBI9); Jul-Aug, occasionally bivoltine Oct; thrift (Armeria maritima); local on rocky coasts from Sussex to N.Wales. The British ssp is lunigera.
ID: Both sexes: oval mark - small, pale and dark-outlined; pale area between kidney mark and postmedian line. Male: forewing ground colour pale to dark grey-brown, clouded and dusted with dark brown; hindwing largely whitish; antennae shortly bipectinate. Female: forewing ground colour dark blackish-brown to black; hindwing whitish, suffused fuscous subterminally; antenna simple.
