Characterised by the male genitalia having the clavus produced and clothed with hair. All have a dark fuscous forewing underside and hindwing upperside. MBGBI10 included Longalatedes elymi (Lyme Grass), Coenobia rufa (Small Wainscot) and Protarchanara brevilinea (Fenn's Wainscot) in this genus - but these species do not share the above features.
