16.024 Ocnerostoma friesei (Plain Needle-miner)
ws: 8-10mm; bi-(tri-)voltine Mar-May, Aug, (Nov); Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris); local in pinewoods in England and Scotland
ID: Very similar to O.piniariella which has white or grey ringed white antennae, wholly grey in O.frieserei.
Male genitalia: basal sheath of aedeagus extends to 3/4 of its length in O.friesei, 1/4 in O.piniariella. The drawings in MBGBI3 also show the saccus to be almost as long as a valva in O.friesei, ~1/2 as long as a valva in O.piniariella.
