69.001 Mimas tiliae (Lime Hawkmoth)
fw: 23-39mm, ws 70-80mm; May - early Jul; various broadleaved trees including limes (Tilia spp); common in England, local in Wales.
ID: Distinguished by colour and wing-shape from all other British hawkmoths. Forewing termen with a short straight section near the apex then a broad somewhat irregular central excision and smaller smoother excision near the tornus.
