72.067 Phytometra viridaria (Small Purple-barred)
fw: 9-11mm; May-Aug; common/heath milkwort (Polygala vulgaris/serpyllifolia); local on calcareous grassland, heath, moor, woodland rides and coastal sand-dunes throughout GB.
ID: Forewing olive-brown with postmedian and subterminal cross-bands. In form aenea (frequent) the cross-bands are purplish; in form fusca (frequent) the cross-bands are brown; in form lunghali (infrequent) the subterminal cross-band is dark and there is a similar sub-terminal cross-band on the hindwing.
