72.064 Lygephila craccae (Scarce Blackneck)
fw: 18-20mm; Jul-Aug; wood vetch (Vicia sylvatica); RDB – resident on rocky coastlines and coastal cliffs especially in landslips in N.Cornwall and N.Devon and rare migrant in October.
ID: Both L.pastinum (Blackneck) and L.craccae have a distinctive blackish-brown collar and a pale grey-brown forewing ground colour. In L.pastinum the oval is reduced to a black dot, the kidney mark has two small black dots distal to it and the costa lacks black spots; in L.craccae the oval is missing, the kidney mark lacks the additional black dots, the costa has four black spots in the basal 3/5 and the forewing veins are whitish.
