12.045 Opogona omoscopa (Eastern Detritus Moth)
Introduced from Australia since publication of MBGBI2; status not known
I found 40 specimens on Bryher, Isles of Scilly 4th-15th October 2009. Of 10 specimens taken for further examination 9 were female and 1 male.
fw range from 7.5 to 10.0mm suggesting ws ~15.5-21mm. None found on St Agnes first 2 weeks of October 2010. About 30 found on St Marys 23/09 - 07/10/2011. Common in October on St Marys in subsequent years.

The depth of dark purplish forewing colouration and distinctness of the pale tornal and dorsal spots all seem to fade with wear.
