ID: Ground colour olive; kidney oval and dart marks all distinct, darker than ground colour and pale-edged; postmedian line convex towards the termen and closer to the antemedian line at the dorsum than at the costa; forewing termen fairly straight, apex slightly falcate.
I.retusa (Double Kidney) averages smaller (fw 13-15mm), has a darker olive ground colour; a concave termen and a strongly falcate apex; straight, parallel antemedian and postmedian lines and it lacks a dart mark (claviform stigma).
