38.038 Elachista rufocinerea (Speckled Grass-miner)
ws: 10-11mm; Apr-May in S.England, May-Jul in Scotland; creeping soft-grass (Holcus molis), false oat-grass (Arrhenatherum elatius), tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea), smaller cat's-tail (Phleum bertolonii); Common throughout Britain.
ID: The only Elachistid to show a reddish-ochreous suffusion on a plain ochreous-white ground colour. The extent of reddish-ochreous suffusion is quite variable. The thorax shows a central reddish-ochreous stripe. The male antenna is greyish-brown, while that of the female is ringed ochreous and brown.
