ID: Similar to Phiaris micana but has a narrower forewing with a more acute apex and more sharply defined markings.
Markings vary from yellowish-brown to deep reddish brown, the darker specimens showing more admixture of black.
Male genitalia: Uncus indented in P.palustrana and rounded in P.micana
