fw: 15-21mm; May-Aug; heather (Calluna vulgaris), bell heather / cross-leaved heath (Erica cinerea / tetralix); local on heathland of Dorset and New Forest and on moorland and mosses of N.Wales, N.England and Scotland.
ID: two dark cross-lines on forewing with a central dark spot; distal cross-line “continued onto” hindwing which may also have a dark central spot; ground colour white in uplands, greyer in heathland and lowlands; female much smaller than male. Unlikely to be confused with any other species.
