58.001 Leptidea sinapis (Wood White)
ws:?; mid-May to early Jul, occasionally bivoltine Aug; bird's-foot / greater bird's-foot trefoil (Lotus corniculatus/pedunculatus), bitter vetch / meadow vetchling (Lathyrus linifoius/pratensis), tufted vetch (Vicia cracca); local in woodland rides in midlands, south-central and south-west England.
ID: Always rest with wings closed; forewing apex rounded. Black spot at apex much larger in male than female.
Externally identical to L.juvernica (Cryptic Wood White) which occurs in Ireland but not in GB.
