ws: 12-15mm; Jul-Aug; bristly/hawkweed oxtongue (Picris echioides/hieracioides), hawk's-beard (Crepis spp); local on calcareous grassland, scrub and coastal habitats in S.England and S.Wales
ID: Distinguished from similar species by its white thorax and head. N.dubitana also has a white head but it has a black thorax. C.atricapitana has a black thorax and head. N.molliculana has a brown head and thorax with a variable mix of white.
